President Bola Tinubu will present the 2024 Nigerian Excellence Awards in Public Service to 40 distinguished Nigerians on Saturday in Abuja.
The awardees were selected through a rigorous process that measured their contributions to their states, communities, and agencies.
Among the recipients are the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; the Speaker, House of Representatives, Taajudeen Abbas; and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Seven state governors, including Peter Mbah of Enugu State and Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, will also receive the award, according to TheNation.
The list also includes top government officials, such as the Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service, Wale Adeniyi; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Yemi Cardoso; and the Executive Chairman, FIRS, Zach Adedeji. The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, are also among the awardees.
The NEAPS is a collaboration between the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and a private firm, The Best Strategic PR.
According to the Communications Officer of TBS, Mrs. Caroline Yovchevska, the award aims to inspire greater patriotism, promote innovation, and recognize individuals at the forefront of efficient public service delivery.
The award ceremony will take place in Abuja on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
