Tinubu urges NASS members to unite for prosperous Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appealed to members of the National Assembly to put aside their differences and work together to build a new Nigeria that will ensure a prosperous future for generations to come.

Speaking at a joint session of the National Assembly, Tinubu emphasized that leaders and citizens alike have a shared responsibility to collaborate and drive progress in the country.

He stressed that no one else will build Nigeria for them, and it is up to them to take charge of its development, according to Daily Post.

The President’s call for unity and collaboration comes as the country faces various challenges, and his administration seeks to implement policies and programs aimed at promoting economic growth, security, and social welfare.

Tinubu’s remarks were seen as a rallying cry for lawmakers and Nigerians to put aside their differences and work towards a common goal of building a better future for the country.

He said: “Let us work together to build our nation, not only for ourselves but for generations yet unborn. We must chart a new course and set the path for our development.”

While applauding them for the smooth working relationship with his government and for the quick manner in which they passed the 2024 budget, the President told the lawmakers that he would soon submit the 2025 budget proposal to them for consideration, saying, “We are walking the talks.”

Congratulating Nigerians for 25 years of unbroken democracy, the President told them that it is possible that he would not have been President if he had not passed through the National Assembly, saying “I started from here.”
