Tinubu will complete eight-year tenure, APC chieftain dismisses opposition threats

A member of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Tolu Bankole, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu will complete his eight-year constitutional mandate to finish his reforms and the transformation of Nigeria.

This statement follows ongoing discussions regarding the 2027 presidential election, with some prominent opposition figures reportedly considering an alliance to challenge the ruling party.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, Bankole emphasized that there would be no vacancy in Aso Rock until 2031. He also dismissed concerns over the opposition parties’ potential alliance, stating that the ruling party remains unfazed by these developments.

Bankole, who also leads the APC’s Special Persons With Disability sector, expressed confidence that as the 2027 presidential election draws near, President Tinubu will secure a decisive victory against any opposition.

He urged Nigerians to disregard distractions and advised opposition parties to focus their energy on constructive engagements rather than futile attempts to undermine the legitimacy of Tinubu’s administration.

“Save your money and energy; there will be no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027. President Tinubu’s administration has implemented far-reaching economic reforms, setting Nigeria on a path of renewal and long-term prosperity,” Bankole stated.

“His policies, vision, and leadership are already yielding results, and his second term will consolidate these gains. Those who fantasize about truncating this established order are either ignorant of Nigeria’s political history or are deliberately sowing discord for selfish gains,” he added.

Bankole further asserted that Nigerians can now see through the pretenses of opposition figures, recognizing their lack of preparation and commitment to national unity. He described the opposition’s efforts as “comical, whimsical, and outrageous political schemes” and urged them to abandon their ambitions.

“As the 2027 presidential election approaches, it is evident that President Tinubu will secure a resounding victory over any opponent. His remarkable commitment to Nigeria’s transformation speaks for itself. Those considering contesting should rethink their ambition, as there is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027,” Bankole said.

He affirmed that the nation is steadily progressing toward a “renewed and sustainable glory” under President Tinubu’s leadership, with a vision for a prosperous Nigeria becoming clearer for all to see.
