The 2023 Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress and convener of the #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore, has berated the Federal Government over delayed justice and waste of resources in his ongoing treason trial.
Sowore has been facing trial on the allegation of treason levelled against him at the Federal High Court in Abuja. He said this when he appeared before the court for the continuation of his trial on Tuesday.
Speaking before the Justice of the High Court, Justice Emeka Nwite, the activist expressed disappointment in the action of the federal government, noting that Justice Nwite will be the third judge on the matter.
He also claimed no evidence or witness had been brought against him.
Sowore stated that the president whom he was accused of overthrowing is no more in power, and has since retired back to his village in Daura.
He, however, pleaded before the judge to get the case dismissed, noting that he needed to go to his family, while also assuring Justice Nwite that he had nowhere to run to, saying that he had run for a political office in the country.
While showing concerns about the Judges’ time and the FG’s resources being wasted, Sowore demanded to be tried alone, instead of wasting time on a secondary school student who has been pointed as his co-conspirator, and he is nowhere to be found.
“I am ashamed of the government of Nigeria over this farcical trial”

“#RevolutionNow,” Sowore tweeted.
