A popular Nigerian singer and social activist, Charles Oputa, known as Charly Boy, has expressed rejection of the possible rerun of the February 25 Presidential election in Nigeria.

Charly Boy made this disclosure through a post on his X handle (formerly Twitter) while reacting to the rumour of a possible rerun of the election.

Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party and his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, are both challenging the victory and eligibility of President Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, who was declared the winner of the election, at the ongoing 2023 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abuja.

However, there have been speculations in public places, that the outcome of the case at the tribunal may lead to the cancellation and rerun of the election, due to some anomalies that happened during the conduct of the election.

Reacting to the development, Charly Boy who is a known supporter of Obi, wrote on his X handle: “We Refuse, Reject And Condemn A Rerun.

“If they, the judiciary did it for ROTIMI AMAECHI of Rivers State and they also did even greater wonders for HOPE UZODINMMA of Imo state; Surely, they can do even greater for PETER OBI.

“What is good for the goose is good …#NoToRerun.”
