The presidency has clarified that a video of President Bola Tinubu addressing Nigerians, which went viral, is an old video.
Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the clarification in a post via his X account.
Onanuga stated, “A trending video of President Tinubu which came out on Wednesday is not a new video. It’s a clip from the broadcast he made last year. President Tinubu has not made any other public statement since his last broadcast on Sunday.”
This clarification comes after President Tinubu addressed Nigerians on Sunday in the wake of the #EndBadGovernance protest. In his address, he called on protesters to cease their demonstrations and open room for dialogue, saying there was no going back on the removal of fuel subsidy.
