Wanted park chair reveals rift with Oyo govt before arrest

The former head of the Oyo State Park Management System, Mukaila Lamidi, commonly known as Auxiliary, was arrested on Tuesday.

Before his arrest, he revealed some details about his relationship with the state government, particularly implicating Seye Famojuro, a trusted ally of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Auxiliary alleged that Famojuro, whom he met during a campaign, had turned against him, causing a rift between him and the governor.

According to Auxiliary, Famojuro prevented him from benefiting from his efforts in securing a win for the Peoples Democratic Party in the last Local Government election.

He stated, “If he (Famojuro) is the governor or Seyi Makinde is, we will know. It is just a matter of time. Everybody will face the consequences of their actions. The people he chose to manage the park are cheating themselves. Seye will still go back to Ijesha because Ibadan is not his town. Only Governor Seyi Makinde and I will remain here because we won’t run away. And I see that the bird is not working, but God feeds it. Seye will reap the seeds of his actions.”

When asked about his role in the last LG election in Oyo State, he said, “Opposition cannot compete with the ruling government and win local government elections. I have worked for all the 33 Local Governments in the State. I worked for PDP, I did not work for APC, I worked for PDP. If I wronged them, God will judge. I worked for Seyi Makinde, but Otunba Adeseye Famojuro did not allow me to benefit from my hard work.

“Otunba Seye did not introduce me to Seyi Makinde; he came to meet me at my residence in Olodo. He said Sunday Igboho was disturbing him during one of his campaigns with exorbitant prices. We went for a campaign together, and that was how my relationship with Seye started. He did not take me to the governor; the governor sent him to me. The governor knows I am in good terms with him; I heard the governor is aware of what Seye did to me, but I don’t want to believe it.

“I did not have a written agreement with Governor Seyi Makinde before I started working for him. I thank God because they could not kill me; all my properties they destroyed belong to God.”

Auxiliary also claimed that Famojuro did not introduce him to the governor, but rather, the governor sent Famojuro to him, insisting that Famojuro was behind his predicaments.

On Tuesday, masked uniformed men, allegedly from the Department of State Service, whisked him away from his Olodo residence in Ibadan.
