Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi said he didn’t inform his former ally, Atiku Abubakar, about his 2023 ambition and eventual exit from the Peoples Democratic Party because he didn’t want anyone to convince him.
Obi was once a running mate to Atiku during the 2019 presidential election on the platform of the PDP.
Premium Politics had reported that PDP presidential candidate, Atiku, in a recent interview, said that Obi did not consult him before defecting to the Labour Party.
Reacting to this on Monday in a Channels Television interview, Obi confirmed Atiku’s statement that he did not consult anyone because he didn’t want to be convinced.
“It is true that I did not tell Atiku Abubakar before resigning from the PDP. I did not even tell my family. I did not want anyone to talk me out of it,” Obi stated.
