Why Osinbajo, Ngige aren't involved in APC's campaign - Keyamo

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s absence from the party’s campaign has been explained by Festus Keyamo, spokesman for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council.

He claimed that Osinbajo is carrying out orders from the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.d).

He pointed out that although Osinbajo has been tasked with concentrating on government, Buhari has been actively participating in the APC’s campaign.

Speaking of Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, Keyamo said that Rotimi picks which political event to attend for reasons that he is best able to understand.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has, however, chosen not to participate in the APC’s campaign, according to Keyamo.

The APC Spokesperson maintained that while “Ngige is not running against our party,” the Senator had only chosen to be neutral, adding that he is just one out of Nigeria’s 43 Ministers.

In contrast to the opposition PDP, the party, he continued, has “an absolutely strong coalition.”

In his words: “Rotimi Amaechi (former Minister of Transportation) was there in Adamawa State and Jos recently; he has been going to the rallies but he has picked the ones he wants to attend.

“For the Vice President, it was a directive for him to face governance, and you can see Mr President has been going round campaigning. Also, Ngige is not campaigning against our party, he just said he will remain neutral for his own reasons and that is just one minister out of 43.

“We have an absolutely strong coalition in the APC unlike the PDP that has virtually collapsed,” he added.
