Why PDP must expel Wike – Edwin Clark

A former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has called on the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ambassador Iliya Damagun, to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Nyesom Wike, from the party to save it from destruction.

In an open letter to Damagun, Clark stated: “I am writing to bring to your attention the activities of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Nyesom Wike, who is using his closeness to President Bola Tinubu to intimidate the Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the party.”

Clark, who is also the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum and the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders Forum, said: “I cannot stand by and allow the minister to continue to hound the governor. If we do not stop him, the matter will consume him, Wike, and their cohorts.”

He added: “I am already a politician before Wike was born. After criticizing former Governors Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), and Ben Ayade (Cross River) for defecting to the All Progressives Congress, Wike is now ‘dancing naked’ with the same ruling party.”

Clark also stated: “After conceding that former Rivers State governor, Peter Odili, and his wife made him what he is today and will forever remain grateful to them, he is now abusing them. I won’t allow him to destroy Rivers State.”

He alleged that Wike, having failed to use the APC to disrupt the PDP, is now using the party against itself. Clark is writing a book titled, “PDP: to be or not to be.”
