Yahaya Bello offered me N70m to step down in 2018 – Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

Senator-Elect of Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti, said that the state governor, Yahaya Bello, wants to be a godfather by all means.

The Senator-elect said the governor tried to achieve this feat by offering her 50 million naira to step down for his anointed candidate at the 2019 election in the Kogi Central Senatorial district.

Making this allegation during an interview on Arise TV Morning Show on Wednesday, Akpoti, who revealed that the bribe was offered to her in 2018 while she contested for the senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress, added that the governor increased the offer to N70 million.

She maintained that the governor has always wanted to become the godfather and make his words become the law.

“In 2018 before I joined the SDP and contested for the senatorial seat, I was in APC for pretty much three months, and I will say this, the governor called on me just like he called on 9 other aspirants at that time and telling each and everyone to step down, to some people he offered money, he offered me money as well.

“He offered me 50 million at first I turned it down, he said how about 70 million for you to step down for my anointed candidate who was the then-senator, I rejected the money I told him I wasn’t in the race for money,” she said.
