The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has issued a warning to officers and personnel serving in the corps during election duty to refrain from “accidental discharge,” as there will be no forgiveness for any who fail to do so.
According to Daily Trust, the commandant stated this through a press statement issued by the director of public relations of the NSCDC, Commandant Olusola Odumosu.
He said that Audi had issued a warning to its employees not to make concessions to political players, adding that those who did so would be dealt with harshly.
The CG instructed all workers to maintain an air of objectivity, neutrality, and high levels of professionalism at all times.
“Let me warn all personnel, most especially arms bearers, to allow the rules of engagement reverberate in their heads and guide them in exercising an enormous amount of caution and carefulness.
“For anyone found compromising, working for any political party or involved in accidental discharge during these elections; we will not only dismiss you, we will also prosecute you to teach others a very big lesson,” the CG warned.
