The Peoples Democratic Party has appointed former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, as member of its Presidential Campaign Council.
The PDP PPC Director General, Aminu Tambuwal, announced Dogara appointment in a statement on Sunday.
Dogara, an All Progressives Congress chieftain, fallout with the ruling party over its Muslim-Muslim ticket.
The statement read, “The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council wishes to formally announce that Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, CON has been appointed as MEMBER of the Presidential Campaign Council with immediate effect.”
It would be recalled that few days ago, A group of mainly All Progressives Congress members of northern extraction led by Dogara adopted the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, as its preferred candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
