Governor Francis Erishi Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has given N310 million to 31 communities in the state for community development and growth.
The money was distributed on Thursday through the Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency, which is supported by the World Bank.
The governor urged the communities to use the money wisely for their own benefit and the state’s progress. His media aide, Leo Ekene Oketa, said the community development project was a popular World Bank initiative. He said the communities were chosen based on their readiness for development.
The governor had also recently given N2 million each to 500 Ebonyi residents to help them start their own businesses.
