The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has fired Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly called Binani, as the presidential council’s campaign coordinator for Adamawa State.
Politics Nigeria reported that this development comes barely twelve hours after it was reported that the executive committee of the APC in the state, rejected the female lawmaker as coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council in the state.
Binani was also accused of singlehandedly selecting members of the council.
Although it was rumoured that Binani had resigned on Thursday, reports revealed that Tinubu has replaced Binani with a former Adamawa state deputy governor, Martin Babale.
The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, who also doubles as the Director-General of the Tinubu/Kashim Shettima PCC, through a published statement stated: “By way of this letter, I’m pleased to formally convey your appointment as Adamawa state Coordinator of Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
“This appointment is fitting and appropriate, given your impressive political achievement and the exemplary leadership you have demonstrated as a major pillar of the party.”
Furthermore, Lalong said Babale merited the appointment through his role as a pillar of the party.
“We are confident that your wealth of experience will impact greatly on our mission to drive an effective message-driven campaign,” Lalong added.
