The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party during the last election in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu has condoled with the Diya Family and Nigerians in general, following the death of the former Chief of General Staff, Lt-General Oladipupo Diya, who died early hour of Sunday.
In a condolence message issued by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, Adebutu extolled the “great virtues” of the former Chief of Defence Staff, noting that he lived a life worthy of emulation.
Describing late General Diya as an illustrious son of Odogbolu, Adebutu noted that the former military administrator of Ogun State was courageous par excellence.
The former member of the Senate further described the late General as a brave military officer, who served the nation and Ogun State diligently.
“His commitment to the development of Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole shall not be forgotten as they are indelible in the hearts of the people,” he noted.
Thanking God for the “fulfilled life” lived by the late General, he urged the family, friends, and associ,ates to take consolation in the fact that the deceased left good legacies.
While praying for the serenity of his soul, he begged God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
