The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje on Thursday, received the lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District at the Senate, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
Senator Ubah who defected to the APC on Thursday, October 12, 2023, was received at the party National Secretariat, by Ganduje and some other members of the National Working Committee of the APC.
Premium Politics earlier reported that the Anambra-born lawmaker announced his defection through a letter read on the floor of the senate, by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during a brief plenary session on Thursday.
Uba had stated in the letter that his defection was necessary due to irreconcilable differences in his immediate former party, the Young Progressive Party
Senator Akpabio further explained that Ubah’s decision was in the interest of his constituent.
However, the Senate President presented Ubah to the APC National Chairman on Thursday evening.
