Members and facilitators of the Rochas Political Institute for Emerging Leaders have declared their full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, vowing to ensure a smooth transition between his current and next terms.
Speaking after their inaugural general assembly, representatives reaffirmed their commitment to Tinubu’s leadership and urged Nigerians to rally behind his second-term ambition.
Peter Muoghara Ebubedike, representing the students, along with facilitators including Hon. Uba and John Onyebuchi, reiterated their stance, calling for nationwide support for the president.
Addressing the security challenges in the South East, the institute stressed the importance of releasing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, asserting that his freedom would help restore lasting peace and progress in the region. This appeal aligns with ongoing national discussions on stability and reconciliation, particularly concerning the South East.
Members also commended Tinubu’s administration for its efforts in regional development, particularly the establishment of the South East Development Commission. They expressed optimism that this initiative would lead to significant infrastructural improvements in the region.
However, the group raised concerns over the underrepresentation of South Easterners in key political positions, noting that while some states in other regions have multiple substantive ministers, the South East remains inadequately represented. They called on the federal government to address this imbalance through more inclusive appointments.
The institute also expressed deep appreciation to Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha for his commitment to empowering South East youth, acknowledging his contributions to education and human capital development.
Muoghara declared, “We pass a vote of implicit confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledge our unwavering support for his second-term bid.
“Having reviewed the security situation in the South East and Nigeria as a whole, we conclude that the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will bring lasting peace and progress to our region and the country.
“We appreciate the significant strides made by the Tinubu administration in regional development.
“We decry the absence of South Easterners in key political positions.
“Posterity will remember Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha for his leadership in free education and human capital development.”
