A leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has declared that the party is in its strongest position yet to win the November 8 governorship election.
He stated that the APC’s growing political influence in Anambra would significantly reshape the state’s political landscape in this year’s election. Chukwuma also assured that the party would deliver more effective leadership when it assumes power on March 17, 2026.
Speaking on Television Continental’s current affairs programme on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Chukwuma expressed confidence in his chances of emerging victorious in the APC primary election scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025.
“My optimism about winning the primary election comes from the overwhelming grassroots support I enjoy today. I believe this is due to my role in repositioning and strengthening the APC in Anambra over the past three years,” he said.
Chukwuma also criticised the state government’s role in education, attributing Anambra’s academic success to mission schools rather than government initiatives.
“The Catholic Church and the Anglican Church have been the driving forces behind qualitative education in Anambra, while state-owned schools continue to suffer neglect,” he said.
Distinguishing between the APC’s federal policies and Anambra’s developmental and security challenges under Governor Charles Soludo’s administration, Chukwuma argued that many of the state’s most pressing issues were local problems within the responsibility of the state government.
If elected, he vowed to tackle Anambra’s insecurity decisively, pledging to introduce comprehensive solutions to restore stability.
