The All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State has vowed to challenge the victory of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri at the Adamawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, against its candidate, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, otherwise known as Aishatu Binani.
Stating this while responding to the judgement of the tribunal on Saturday, the state chairman of APC, Idris Shuaibu, said the verdict was a shock to him and the party.
Shuabi noted that despite the disbelieve at the outcome of the tribunal, the party still stand strong, and is ready to exhaust all available legal means to upturn the tribunal decision at the upper court.
“We have hope, as we have two more avenues after the tribunal to express our grievances and for the tribunal judgement to be upturned,” he said.
According to the Chairman who is also a lawyer and former legal adviser of the party in the state, APC will liaise with the national leadership to apply for the certified record of the judgement, study it, and head for appeal, noting that it does not stand for the majority decision of the Adamawa electorate.
“This judgement is not the true reflection of Adamawa voters’ mandate,” Shuaibu said.
He however urged party members to remain calm, while appreciating their support after the election.
“The APC in Adamawa State is resolute to pursue all legal means to get our mandate,” he said.
