Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Tuesday unveiled a N159 billion infrastructure plan for the 2025 fiscal year, aimed at enhancing road, education, and health infrastructure across the state.
The governor disclosed the details of the ambitious plan during a briefing with newsmen at the EXCO Lounge of his office, assuring residents that his administration would not abandon any project, whether ongoing or newly initiated.
Governor Adeleke emphasized that the infrastructure plan includes both inherited ongoing road construction projects and new road initiatives launched by his administration. He also highlighted that no funds were borrowed to finance these projects, underscoring the state’s commitment to prudent financial management.
Some of the key projects under the infrastructure plan include:
– The Osogbo–Iwo–Oyo State boundary road, costing N5,940,793,414.71.
– The Osogbo–Ikirun–Insha–Kwara State boundary road, costing N13,708,309,766.47.
– The reconstruction of the Ejigbo–Isoko–Aye-Oguro road, a 5.1-kilometer project costing N3,018,747,965.97.
– The dualization of Odo Ori Junction–Post Office Junction–Adeeke Junction with a spur to Oluwo Palace, a 6.65-kilometer road phased into two parts at a cost of N10,421,756,647.87.
Governor Adeleke provided updates on the progress of ongoing projects, stating, “It is my honour to report that we have completed the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and renovation of over 150 kilometers of roads, 200 Primary Health Centres, and 99 schools, while several dualization and flyover projects are at various stages of completion.”
He further detailed the status of specific projects:
– The Ilesa dualization project is 60 percent completed.
– The Ile-Ife flyover project is 60 percent completed.
– The Oke-Fia flyover is over 90 percent completed.
– The LAMECO flyover is about 50 percent executed.
The governor also highlighted the near-completion of 1.5-kilometer road projects across all Local Government Areas in the state and the Oke Gada bridge, which is approximately 70 percent completed. He assured the public that these mega projects would be completed within the fiscal year, reiterating his administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises.
“We are pushing ahead with these mega projects. I assure the public of completion within this fiscal year. Our administration will not leave any project uncompleted,” Adeleke added.
