Human Rights activist Femi Falana, SAN, Maxwell Opara, and Deji Adeyanju were among the lawyers who accompanied Nigeria Labour Congress President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, to the Force headquarters for questioning over allegations of terrorism financing, among others.
Although the Labour movement had mobilized its members to accompany Ajaero to the Police headquarters in solidarity, Chief Falana, who is the NLC lawyer, advised the workers to stay behind at the Labour house to avoid a rowdy session at the Police. He assured them that the situation would be handled well with the lawyers from his Chambers, among others, in the entourage.
As the workers from different unions waited at the Labour House, there was a detachment of Police Officers within the vicinity.
