Popular content creator and skit maker, Bello Galandaci, known online as Dan Bello, has made explosive allegations in a recent video, accusing key figures in Kano State’s All Progressives Congress of looting the state treasury.
The video, shared on his X.com page on Wednesday, has garnered significant attention, with over 700 views.
Dan Bello, who frequently comments on national issues, claimed to have uncovered extensive financial misconduct by members of the Kano APC.
In the video, Bello referenced a 286-page bank account history, naming individuals allegedly involved in diverting funds from the Kano State treasury.
He specifically mentioned Dr. Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the wife of the former Kano governor/current APC national chairman, alleging that funds were transferred directly from the state’s account to her personal bank account.
Bello also alleged that a friend of the APC chairman’s son named Abbas Kabiru Dahiru was involved in registering a company called Shoreditch Gen Res, which he claimed was used to siphon money from the state.
According to Bello, several large transactions were made, including transfers of ₦82 million, ₦63 million, and ₦10 million to a company named MJ Multipurpose Services.
“The complexity of the system makes it difficult to determine the exact amount stolen, but more than ₦20 billion is currently being traced,” Bello stated in the video.
In a separate three-minute clip released on August 11, 2024, Dan Bello provided further evidence, including documents and receipts, which he claimed links former Kano commissioner Murtala Sule Garo to the theft of ₦10 billion in public funds.
He accused Garo, now the APC deputy governorship candidate in Kano, of using his position as the commissioner for local governments to siphon funds.
“For example, this is Kano APC deputy governorship candidate, Murtala Sule Garo. He was the commissioner for local governments when Dollar Bandit (Abdullahi Umar Ganduje) was governor,” Bello alleged.
“Murtala made it mandatory for every local government to pay more than ₦5 million monthly for diesel for Kano’s water treatment plants. ₦5 million × 44 local governments is ₦228 million monthly. So, does he purchase the diesel?”
In response to these allegations, the Kano APC called for the arrest of Dan Bello.
However, the content creator doubled down, releasing another video exposing more alleged misconduct.
During an interview with TrustTV Daily Politics on Tuesday, Bello challenged the government to take legal action against him if they dispute his claims.
He also criticized President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, blaming them for the widespread hardship and suffering among Nigerians.
