A former governorship candidate under Labour Party in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill, said that the ring road projects embarked on by Siminalayi Fubara’s administration were the master plan of the former state governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
The ring road project whose contract was recently signed by the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara spans through six Local Government Areas of the state, according to Leadership.
He made the revelation while chatting with newsmen yesterday, adding that the 50-kilometre road project was a “good idea.”
He applauded the project but denied knowledge of the cost of the project, thereby leaving it to public scrutiny.
“The idea is a good one but I don’t know about the cost. People who are speaking about cost probably know the specifics, I don’t know the specifics.
“Those things are subject to public scrutiny but the idea itself is a good one. I heard that the size has reduced and the scope has reduced, but I don’t have the details,” he said.
