A prominent All Progressives Congress chieftain, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged politicians to refrain from making comments that could spark violent protests against the government.
Oyintiloye, in a chat with the press on Sunday, emphasized that exploiting the current economic hardship to instigate unrest is unacceptable and those doing so should be considered enemies of the state.
According to him, President Bola Tinubu needs the support and prayers of all Nigerians to stabilize the economy. He noted that the president is working diligently to address the economic challenges.
The APC chieftain also called on security agencies to be vigilant and ensure that anyone attempting to incite violence faces the law.
Oyintiloye acknowledged the temporary economic hardship but expressed confidence in the president’s ability to turn the economy around.
He appealed to Nigerians to support the Tinubu administration, emphasizing that collective understanding and cooperation are essential in overcoming the country’s challenges.
“There is no doubt that the economy is not in its best shape, but this is just temporary.
“The president is working assiduously to ensure that the economy is brought back to shape for Nigerians to enjoy.
” While we are waiting for that, I do not think inciting the masses against the government is the best way to go.
“I will strongly advise those politicians who are calling people to protest against the government to desist or be ready to face the law,” he said.
