The All Progressives Congress has inaugurated a seven-member screening committee to review the qualifications of aspirants for the Anambra State governorship election.
The committee was officially launched by the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, at the party’s national secretariat on Friday.
A statement issued by the party on its official X handle revealed that the committee will be chaired by Ibrahim Shehu Shema, the former Governor of Katsina State.
The statement highlighted that the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, inaugurated the committee at the party’s national secretariat. Additionally, the National Organising Secretary, H.E. Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to conduct a thorough and transparent screening process.
The screening and appeal process will be supported by a dedicated secretariat, led by Tasi’u Mohammed, Director of Election Matters, and Alhaji Ahmed Wambai, Director of Organising, to ensure smooth operations during the exercise.
The seven governorship aspirants currently undergoing screening are Messrs Chukwuma Umeoji, Obiora Okonkwo, Nicholas Ukachukwu, Paul Chukwuma, Onunkwo Obinna, Valentine Ozigbo, and Edozie Madu.
