National Legal Adviser of All Progressives Congress, Ahmed El-Marzuq, has tendered his resignation from his role within the National Working Committee of the ruling party.
El-Marzuq, who is thought to have been an ally of previous National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, reportedly resigned on Wednesday.
According to sources in the national headquarters of the party in Abuja, it has been revealed that the esteemed legal figure has experienced a certain degree of pressure subsequent to the departure
The former national legal adviser gained media attention three months ago for his suggestion to expel the former National Vice Chairman for Northwest, Mallam Salihu Lukman due to his choice to litigate against the party and its leadership.
El-Marzuq’s recommendation was included in a leaked “legal opinion” sent to Adamu on April 28, 2023.
His resignation was the fourth instance following the departures of Adamu, Lukman, and the former National Secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Attempts to elicit a response from Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, proved to be unproductive.
