Some stakeholders of the All Progressive Peoples Congress have called for support for President Bola Tinubu in his quest to reposition Nigeria.
They made this call during a chat with journalists in Lagos, observing that the president’s decisions on security, education, economy, and tax reforms are signs of good things to come for Nigerians.
A former Financial Secretary of APC, Lagos, Prince Hammed Olanrewaju Mohammed called on Nigerians from all over the country to support the present government in their efforts to take the country back to its lost glory.
“President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has hit the ground running, and the process has been perfect. I am very hopeful that there is going to be a good administration under him. Nigerians should join hands with the present government at the top and support President Tinubu’s efforts to reposition the country.
“We are in a critical situation now, and the only way out of our present predicament is to support the present government to take us back to our lost glory,” Mohammed said.
Also, the President of the Lagos Hoteliers Association, Oluomo Jamiu Talabi, said Tinubu had taken some steps that can lead to the betterment of Nigerians.
Talabi commended the president for signing four Executive Orders deferring and suspending the commencement of certain taxes paid by individuals and companies, which, according to him, will reduce the tax burden on Nigerians and their businesses.
“We commend President Tinubu on the tax reforms. Before now, the taxes were enormous. It is killing and discouraging businesses. So with these tax reforms and the committee set up by the president, we hope and pray that they will do away with unnecessary taxes and bring them down to a good minimum
“There is no doubt that the steps taken will have a positive impact on the economy. We can’t judge him now, but we can only give kudos for what he has done,” Talabi said.
A Councillor representing Ward D at Lagos Mainland Local Government, Frank Isiekwene, appreciated President Tinubu for signing the students’ loan bill to law, which he said will allow more Nigerian youths to be educated.
“With the signing of the students’ loan bill to law, it means President Tinubu is interested in the progress of Nigerian youths. He wants every youth to be educated. Also, a few months into this administration, President Tinubu has shown that he is for all irrespective of tribe or religion. All his appointments have been on merit, and I believe everybody will benefit from this government through,” Isiekwene said.
