Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Grand Alliance will secure a landslide victory in the upcoming council elections on September 28.
Speaking at the APGA mega rally in Awka, Soludo, who is also APGA’s National Leader, noted that out of nine contesting parties, APGA is the only one that has fielded candidates for all 21 chairmanship and 326 councillorship positions.
“APGA is fully prepared for the elections, and I assure you, there is no opposition or competition to challenge us,” Soludo stated, urging residents to vote en masse for APGA and promising free, fair, and transparent elections.
APGA National Chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, highlighted Anambra’s 18 years of progress under the party, emphasizing the importance of continuity.
“We’ve made significant strides in the past 18 years, and it’s essential to ensure that progress continues,” Ezeokenwa said, encouraging voters to support APGA.
Former National Chairman, Victor Oye, also praised the candidates, describing them as “men and women of integrity who would deliver”.
To symbolize the party’s unity and commitment, a presentation of the party flag was made to the 21 chairmanship and 326 ward councillorship candidates.
Soludo’s confidence in APGA’s victory is shared by other party leaders, including Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, who predicts a landslide victory for Soludo in the 2025 governorship election.
With APGA’s strong presence in Anambra, it’s likely that the party will perform well in the upcoming council elections.
