The Supreme Court has affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.
The Court in a verdict delivered on Thursday, ruled that the appeal filed by Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, lacked merit.
“On the whole, it is my view that there is no merit in this appeal,” Justice Inyang Okoro said.
Atiku had filed an appeal before the court to overturn the judgment of the presidential election petition tribunal which affirmed Tinubu’s election as president.
It would be recalled that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had on September 6, thrown Atiku’s petition away for lack of merit.
However, the apex court had also on Thursday, affirmed the decision of the tribunal, which had earlier upheld the victory of the President at the last Presidential election.
