The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party standard bearer, Atiku Abubakar, is plotting against him.
According to a Video culled from Channels TV, Wike made this remark while speaking in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State on Friday where he denounced suing the former Vice President.
Reports had emerged that the Rivers State Governor filed a subpoena against Atiku Abubakar, the PDP, Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, and the Independent National Electoral Commission.
He alleged in the suit filed marked FHC/ABJ/CS/782/2022, to be recognised as the winner of the May 28 and 29, 2022 Presidential primaries conducted by the PDP.
However, in a turn, the former PDP Presidential aspirant said he never approached any court, and hence didn’t file any suit against Atiku.
He further noted that if he wanted to charge Atiku to court, he would have done so, two weeks after the conclusion of the presidential primaries, adding that the Atiku’s camps were responsible for the act, which he claimed is being used to impersonate him.
“People have called me throughout this morning and have said all kinds of things. that I went to court, against Atiku Abubakar. I want to say categorically if I have reason to go to court, I will go to court but I didn’t go to court,” he said.
“If I want to go to court, I will have gone to court, two weeks after the election, but I want to tell the candidate (Atiku) it is the candidate group that are doing all these things, let the world hear, they(Atiku’s camp) plotting all these things, thinking that they will spoil my name, you cannot!
Wike who is at loggerheads with the PDP standard bearer for snubbing him and picking his counterpart, Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate said if they lose the election, his name should not mention.
“Our people are busy, trying to see how they will win election, they (PDP) are busy trying to see how they will lose election, if they (PDP) lose election, nobody should call my name.
“I have told the PDP candidate, if he loses the election, it is the people around him that made him lose.”
