The Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has upheld the declaration of Senator Bala Mohammed as the legitimately elected governor of the state.
According to The PUNCH, this ruling was delivered by a three-member panel led by P.T. Kwahar.
The tribunal dismissed the case submitted by the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, a former Chief of Air Staff.
It held that there is no compelling basis to annul the election because it was conducted in accordance with the law.
Recall that INEC had in March declared that Mohammed polled 525,280 to beat his closest rival and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Air Marshal Abubakar who polled 432,272.
