The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Benue State, Isaac Mfo, has denied knowledge of the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu’s suspension from the party.
While talking to the news, in reaction to the news of Ayu’s suspension by the executive council of PDP in Igyorov Ward, Gboko Local Council yesterday, The state chairman, tersely said he was“not aware of any such development.”
He said, “Nothing of such has come to my table, neither have I any knowledge of that (Ayu’s suspension).”
The chairman of the party in Gboko Local Council, Mr. Gbangson Adekwagh, while speaking yesterday, said, “That is what people have kept asking me for the past few hours, but I don’t know where that news emanated from.”
The Chairman of the party in Igyorov Ward, Philips Karshi, read from a prepared script yesterday, that Ayu had been suspended from the party.
He noted, among other iniquities of the PDP Chairman, anti-party activities, and his purported failure to vote during the last general elections.
It would be recalled that the National Working Committee of the party, referred the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, to the disciplinary committee of the party, about two days ago, but the governor said, such action will not hold.
The governor, who is one of the five aggrieved PDP governors called G5, protested the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate, and this has caused them to fall apart with the management of the party, which cost them victory at the just concluded general elections in the country.
