A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, has upheld the suspension of Ali Odefa from his position as the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The court’s ruling, issued on Friday, confirmed the suspension which had been imposed on Odefa by the executive committee of the PDP in his Oguduokwor Ward in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on October 4, 2024.
The suspension was based on allegations of anti-party activities.
Odefa challenged the suspension, arguing that it was invalid, asserting that the suspension was carried out by individuals who were not legitimate ward executives of the party, according to Politics Nigeria.
Despite his objections, the court ruled in favour of the PDP, affirming the legitimacy of the suspension.
In a judgment for suit no FHC/AI/CS/182/2024, Justice Hilary Oshomah, the presiding judge, declared the suspension valid and directed Odefa to stop presenting himself as the National Vice Chairman of the party.
