A legal practitioner and social analyst, Dele Farotimi on Thursday berated the rolling All Progressives Congress, over the recently proposed N8,000 palliative, to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy.
Farotimi who took a swipe at the party while speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Thursday, alleged the ruling party of being inhumane to Nigerians.
The activist alleged that the Federal Government budgeted N70 billion for less than 500 people while proposing what he referred to as “essentially nothing” to the masses.
According to him, the measures being proposed by the FG, have not adequately addressed citizens’ concerns, noting that the policies embarked on by the government, show the level of disconnection between the federal government and the people.
However, he claimed that the APC administration lacks the will to improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians, noting that people are just managing to survive.
“Nothing makes sense in Nigeria anymore. What we do now is just trying to survive.
“The government of the country doesn’t treat Nigerians as human beings. It is not just about treating us as citizens, we are not being treated as human beings.
“Let’s imagine this, what kind of mentality or idea governs a country where the government believes that it is okay to budget N70 billion for less than 500 people and then give what is essentially nothing to so many people?
“Before the end of next month, they will ask us to pay some more.
“The government has become the enemy of the people and we have to look beyond all these petty differences and begin to ask questions because these are existential issues. They are legislating us into slavery,” he stated.
