The deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, was among the distinguished guests at the 125th annual Nyass Maulud, a major event honoring the birth of renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, held on Sunday in Bauchi State.
Thousands of Muslim devotees from Nigeria and abroad gathered at the Bauchi Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium to partake in the spiritual celebration. The event, recognized for its widespread participation and significance, attracted attendees from across various regions of Nigeria and beyond.
Other prominent figures in attendance included Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, his wife Dr. Aishatu Bala Mohammed, the Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu, who represented Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, and the renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
During his address, Governor Mohammed praised the Tijjaniya sect for their peaceful disposition, commitment to spiritual growth, and their efforts in fostering societal harmony. He encouraged the sect to pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity, and development, emphasizing that religious harmony is vital for the country’s progress.
The governor also urged citizens to work together in building a stronger, more unified nation, fostering mutual respect and understanding across different religious communities. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to providing better democratic benefits and enhancing the welfare of Islamic scholars.
Governor Mohammed also expressed his gratitude to the event organizers for selecting Bauchi State as the host location and for their continued prayers for peace and development both in the state and the nation.
