A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has claimed that the devil has moved out of the ruling All Progressives Congress and now resides in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
While speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Wednesday night, FFK stated that the APC over the last few years have rebranded itself to becoming a well structured and alligned party while the PDP has fallen down the rail.
Fani-Kayode who recently defected from the PDP stated that his decision to support the APC raises no moral question.
He explained the PDP allowed the “devil” to crawl into their ranks when they failed to honor the constitution of the Party.
According to him, failure of the party to allow its presidential ticket to go to the South, while also allowing major positions in the party to be held by northerners has made the Party a sectional political structure.
“When I was in the PDP for a number of years, I spoke against the opposition to defend my Party and now when I am in the APC, I will speak against those who are against my Party and these were my convinction. I made the decision based on courage.
“It was very clear to me what was going to happen in the PDP, look at their situation today. This is Party that has been bedeviled. Devil has entered the Party.
“I saw that the devil two years ago was coming into the Party and I knew this was going to happen to them.
“This is a party which has violated its own Party constitution . A Party that despite the fact that it has a Northern presidential candidate, while cheating out a southern candidate out of its primary election have the effrontery to say that the National chairmanship of the Party should remain in the North.
“The PDP is a sectional party, while the APC has reformed itself and has become a different body.
” The devil in the APC has been exorcised, at the convention we had, it was the APC northern governors that insisted that presidency must shift to the South.
“The PDP is now playing with the demon that left the APC, and this devil will never leave the PDP.” he stated.
