Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, has appointed a university don Prof. Grace Umezurike as the Secretary to the State Government.
Umezuruike, is the first female to be appointed SSG in the history of the State.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, on Saturday.
According to the statement, the appointment is with immediate effect.
The statement reads: “The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has approved the appointment of Prof. Grace Umezurike as Secretary to Ebonyi State Government.
“The appointment takes immediate effect.
“She will be sworn – in on Tuesday 13th June, 2023.”
Prof Umezurike is the wife of the immediate past Commissioner for Health in the State, Dr Daniel Umezurike.
Until her appointment, She was a lecturer at Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
She hails from Uburu in Ohaozara LGA of the State.
