Ebonyi State lawmaker, Victor Nwoke said that a lot of youths from the state are passing through hell to make earn a living in other cities.
The Abakaliki/ North constituency representative in the state house of Assembly, made this known in a meeting with youths, women and stakeholders of his constituency at his office, in Nkaliki, Ebonyi State.
He maintained that many youths from the state are engaged in dangerous businesses including hawking on traffic.
The Peoples Democratic Party member stressed that this leads to the death of some of the youths of the state.
According to him: “So many of our youths are outside the state engaging themselves in hawking, and that leads to death. So many of our youths are being brought home dead by accident as a result of hawking.
“Our Youths are passing through hell and other dangers while hawking in various states of the Federation. And that’s why I invited them to enrol them in various skill developments, to make them become useful to their parents and the society.”
The lawmaker who enlisted over one thousand youths to be trained in various skill development at the Ebonyi State vocational college vowed to partner with the state governor, Francis Nwifuru in the fight against crimes, according to Daily Post.
“If they take this training seriously, it will help to reduce crimes and other evil things, especially drug abuse, prostitution and stealing,” he added.
