In anticipation of the upcoming governorship election on September 21, Edo State Deputy Governor, Godwins Omobayo, has urged leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Edo North Senatorial District to actively mobilize the electorate for the ongoing voter registration exercise.
This registration initiative is crucial for ensuring a strong turnout and support for the PDP candidates.
The voter registration exercise, scheduled to run for 10 days from May 27 to June 5, aims to update the voters’ roll and ensure that all eligible voters are registered to participate in the forthcoming election.
Deputy Governor Omobayo delivered this call to action during the inauguration of the PDP’s campaign management committees for the Edo North Senatorial District, which includes the Etsako, Owan, and Akoko-Edo Federal Constituencies. These committees are tasked with strategizing and executing the party’s campaign efforts across the district.
In his speeches at various venues within the district, Omobayo emphasized the strength of the Asue Ighodalo/Osarodion Ogie ticket, highlighting it as the optimal choice for the people of Edo State.
He asserted, “the combination of the PDP candidate and his running mate was a testament to integrity, experience, and excellence in public service.”
Reiterating his endorsement, the Deputy Governor stressed that Asue Ighodalo is the leading candidate, arguing that his election is pivotal for continuing the progress achieved under Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration. Omobayo firmly believes that Ighodalo’s leadership would ensure the consolidation of these gains and further advancement for Edo State.
