The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has assured that his principal, Governor Godwin Obaseki, will support his governorship ambition in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Shaibu who made this known while answering questions with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels Televisions, said Obaseki had promised to support whoever wins the Peoples Democratic Party primary election in the state.
The Deputy Governor who stated that his plan B was to politic, win the primaries and win the general election, claimed that the governor vowed to support whosoever wins the PDP primary election during a stakeholders meeting of the party, adding that Obaseki said no one else will win the party primary, but Shaubu himself.
He further claimed that Obaseki had denied supporting his supposedly anointing candidate, Asue, even when it was obvious that he was supporting him.
Shaibu however stated that he was not bothered by whoever Obaseki was supporting, adding that he is a homeboy.
“My plan B is to politics, win the primaries and win the general election.
“Yes, I can bet you that Mr Obaseki, the governor of Edo State, my boss and my senior brother, will support me because he had said at the secretariat when we had our stakeholders meeting, that whoever wins, he will support, and whoever that will win is nobody else but Philip shaibu, so when I win, he will support me.
“He has denied supporting Asue, even when we know he is supporting him, but that really not an issue for me because I am a homeboy,” Shaibu said.
