The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi has called on Nigerians, to make use of the opportunity of the Eid-El-Maolud to have a sober reflection and deep intercession for divine intervention in the challenges facing the country.
Peter Obi who made this call via a post on his X handle on Wednesday, while rejoicing with the Muslim faithful in Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-El-Maolud, said Nigeria has continued to contend with many challenges.
According to him, among many challenges facing the country is disunity among the people, extreme poverty, high rate of unemployment and other things.
However, he urged the people to pray for lasting peace in the country, while keeping with the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s teachings by continually extending brotherly love to ourselves.
“I heartily rejoice with all the Muslim Faithful in Nigeria as they celebrate the Eid-El Maulud to honour the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
“It is an opportunity for sober reflections and deep intercessions for divine intervention in the many challenges facing our nation on all fronts.
“Nigeria has continued to contend with many challenges, some of which are obvious: disunity among the people, extreme poverty, high rate of unemployment and high level of insecurity.
“Let us today, pray for lasting peace in our nation, and in keeping with the Holy Prophet’s teachings, continually extend brotherly love to our countrymen, especially the poor, irrespective of tribe or religious beliefs.
“I wish all the Muslim Faithful a Happy Eid el Maulud celebration. -PO,” he tweeted.
