The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has suspended its chairman in Emure Local Government, Bola Oluwole, amid allegations of theft, misconduct, and misappropriation of party funds.
The suspension follows a probe by a seven-man disciplinary committee, which investigated complaints against Oluwole, including financial impropriety and high-handedness, according to Politics Nigeria.
The party’s leadership in Ekiti North Senatorial District announced the suspension, directing Oluwole to hand over party properties to his deputy, Gabriel Monday Omoniyi, who will act as chairman in his stead.
The move comes after APC members staged a peaceful protest at the party secretariat, calling for Oluwole’s suspension over alleged diversion of palliatives and other offenses.
However, Oluwole claims he has not received formal notification of his suspension.
