Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, has encouraged Nigerian youths to embrace entrepreneurship, positioning the country as Africa’s business and employment hub.
At the public presentation of a book on recycling in Nigeria, Abass emphasized that relying solely on monthly salaries will not lead to genuine wealth. He cited renowned entrepreneurs Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola as inspiring examples.
Mr Abass gave this charge on Thursday in Abuja at the public presentation of “Recycling in Nigeria: How to Start and Run a Successful Recycling Business” by Terseer Ugbor (APC-Benue).
The speaker commended the book’s author, a House member from Benue, for sponsoring motions beneficial to Nigerian youths. Chairman of the House Committee on Environment, Julius Pondi, also praised Ugbor’s efforts.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, represented by Chris Tarka, encouraged youths to read the book and explore business opportunities. This call to action aligns with the House’s focus on environmental and economic development, according to Peoples Gazette.
The event highlights the importance of entrepreneurship in driving Nigeria’s economic growth. With the country’s vast youth population, initiatives promoting business ownership and job creation are crucial for its future prosperity.
The House Committee on Environment, chaired by Pondi with Ugbor as vice chairman, has been actively addressing ecological issues. This book presentation demonstrates the committee’s commitment to sustainable development and youth empowerment.
