A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Moshood Adegoke Salvador, has urged the South Western region of the country to support President Bola Tinubu.
Salvador made this appeal during an interactive session with a group of media professionals ‘League of Media Practitioners,’ in Lagos.
According to the retired politician who confirmed that he had quit active politics, the region may be doomed for life if they fail to give Tinubu the necessary support he needs to succeed in his administration.
The PDP Chieftain who was part of the 2014 National Conference warned that no matter the political affiliation one may belong to, this is the time to set aside sentiment and support Tinubu.
He, however, appealed to all stakeholders in the region to set aside their political party affiliation and support Tinubu for the progress of the region and Nigeria.
The former PDP boss restated that and all he cares for now is the progress of South-West and Nigeria.
Salvador who claimed that Obasanjo was a product of the military, imposed on Nigeria and South-West by the power brokers and northerners, said this is the best opportunity the South West has had so far in the Nigeria project, since independence, urging that Yorubas should rally around their own to give him the needed support.
“I am not interested in any party, whether you are APC, PDP, or Labour Party, that is just a vehicle, but the important thing now is that the Yoruba man is there, he will do what we have been agitating for over the years, and he can do it,” he stated.
