Former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has made her return to Nollywood with the release of a new movie titled Hatred.
The film marks her first major project since her dismissal by President Bola Tinubu on October 24, 2024, alongside four other ministers.
She was replaced by Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim in the cabinet reshuffle.
Kennedy-Ohanenye announced the release of the 40-minute film on her X (formerly Twitter) page on February 5, 2025, sharing a link to the movie. Hatred features a cast that includes Sorochi Onyekwere, Onyi Maduegbunam, Ifunanya Nwobi, and Kachi Obimma.
A lawyer and member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Kennedy-Ohanenye has a longstanding career in the film industry. She has previously been involved in notable productions such as Mama Onboard, The Senator, The Governor, and The President. Additionally, she has appeared in films like Saving My Marriage and Royal Ploy, collaborating with industry veterans like Segun Arinze and Ngozi Ezeonu.
Aside from her involvement in entertainment, Kennedy-Ohanenye is active in real estate, education, and law. She is the founder of Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye Academy and runs her legal firm, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye & Co.
In 2023, she contested in the APC presidential primaries but ultimately stepped down in support of President Tinubu.
