First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed shock and sadness over the demise of the President of the National Council of Women Societies, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau.
In a statement, the First Lady described Hajiya Lau’s passing as a significant loss to the struggle for women’s empowerment and emancipation in Nigeria.
She extended her condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, and the women’s community, praying for the repose of her soul, according to ThisDay.
Hajiya Lau’s leadership and contributions to the NCWS will be deeply missed, the First Lady added.
“I received the news of the passing of the National President of the National Council of Women Societies Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau with shock. What a great loss in the struggle for the emancipation of our womenfolk!
