Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the interests of the people under the guiding principle of “Rivers First.”
This pledge was made during a praise night organized by the state government on Friday in Port Harcourt to celebrate his first year in office.
Speaking at the event, which was attended by numerous dignitaries, Governor Fubara, represented by his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, emphasized the importance of community support in advancing the state’s development. He encouraged residents to contribute in any way they could to help the administration achieve its vision for a prosperous Rivers State.
“We shall continue to have this shared vision of putting Rivers state first, but we can’t do it alone. We need all of you, big and small, to be there for us, to chip in the little or the much you can, and at the end of this our first tenure, you will see where God will take Rivers state to,” Fubara stated.
The governor also expressed gratitude for the spiritual and prophetic contributions made by the artists during the event, viewing them as signs of the state’s divinely secured victory. “I think there were spiritual ministrations that they have made, and they have also made prophetic declarations that we all said amen to,” he remarked.
The praise night, organized to thank God for the governor’s first year in office, featured various performances of praise and worship songs. The event saw the attendance of notable figures including the governor’s wife, Lady Valarie Fubara, former Governor Peter Odili and his wife, retired Justice Mary Odili, and the Rivers State Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Amadi.
In his address, Governor Fubara prayed for divine assistance in overcoming challenges and improving the state. “We need all of you, big and small, to be there for us, to chip in the little or the much you can, and at the end of this our first tenure, you will see where God will take Rivers state to,” he said, highlighting the importance of collective effort in the state’s progress.
Governor Fubara’s message was one of unity and cooperation, urging all residents to work together to achieve a common goal of a better Rivers State.
