The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, met his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Fubara and Wike were seen at the Villa on Tuesday, shaking hands amidst the ongoing impeachment reports in Rivers State.
The governor and his godfather were present at the state house in Abuja, to attend the National Police Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
Wike and Fubara were among the 36 state governors invited to attend the Police Council Meeting, held in the Council Chambers in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Other state governors present at the meeting were: Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Bassey Otu of Cross Rivers State, Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State and Abba Tusuf of Kano State.
There was pandemonium at the Rivers House of Assembly on Monday when lawmakers were about to begin the impeachment process against Fubara.
The governor also stormed the assembly complex with his loyalists to prevent the lawmakers from carrying out their plan, which resulted in a shootout by police officers.
However, it was speculated that the incident happened following an alleged fallout between Fubara and Wike.
