The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has sought the support of the Hausa community in Benin City for the party’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in the upcoming September governorship election in Edo State.
Ganduje, who was accompanied by members of the National Working Committee, Okpebholo, and other top party officials, assured the Hausa community that the APC candidate would protect their interests in the state.
He described Okpebholo as a refined, well-packaged, and sellable candidate to the electorate, expressing confidence in the party’s readiness to win the election due to Okpebholo’s popularity, according to Politics Nigeria.
The APC chairman’s visit to the Hausa community is seen as a strategic move to garner support from the influential group in Edo State.
With the election just around the corner, both the APC and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party are intensifying their campaigns to win over voters.
